It means speaking up for yourself, knowing your rights and knowing what’s out there

TELL ME ABOUT YOUR SELF ADVOCACY GROUP?
RR is a unique group as it’s the only self advocacy group for people with an Intellectual Disability in the LGBTIQ community within Australia

WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT SELF ADVOCACY?
It gives me the chance to speak up for myself and the skills to speak up for myself

WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO IN YOUR FREE TIME?
Play all abilities basketball, go watch my partner Jack play cricket, sometimes I play soccer
Watching tv, things like NCIS, Texas Walker Ranger
Go pictures now and then with Jack my partner

WHY IS RAINBOW RIGHTS GOOD FOR YOU?
It gives me the opportunity to see other people with ID, having a say and trying to get our voices heard
It has given me work, the opportunity to go on the right path, and met new friends and co-workers who I class as friends

It shows people with ID to have their voices heard within the LGBTIQ community

IF YOU WERE PRIME MINISTER WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO CHANGE?
I would like to change the rules about the disability support pension
As in you shouldn’t penalise people who are in relationships
The Prime Minister doesn’t get a cut in his pay if he’s in a relationship
